SHM Industries manufactures above and under ground storage tanks which could be single or double wall. The aboveground tanks could be vertical or horizontal oriented. The tanks range from 1'000 to 125'000 liters capacity, 950 to 3'250 mm diameter and 1'000 to 16'000 mm length.
The production is according to any of the following international design codes:
Inspection and certification: All tanks are inspected and certified by the third party; Bureau Veritas. The tanks are subjected to leak tightness test and holiday and thickness coating tests. Additional nondestructive tests are also available.
Double skin (wall) tank: This type of tank acts as monitoring system of the interstitial space between the two shells for detection of leaks. The material of the inner wall is steel. The material of the outer wall could be either steel or glass reinforced plastics (GRP).
Manhole (Manway): It is manufactured to meet every client requirement for piping and gauging connections. The opening diameter is typically from 450 to 900mm.
Access shaft: With respect to the tank chamber, either circular or rectangular access shafts are welded to the tank to fully seal the tank chamber zone.
Speed frame: For underground tanks and to speed up the preparation time for the backfilling of concrete slab, the time required for fixing the holding down straps and the time of leveling of the sand and concrete; we provide the speed frame solution.
Coating: External coating could be either Epoxy, Polyurethane or GRP which further enhances the corrosion protection of the tank. Internal coating meeting the requirements of Mil-C-4556E is available concerning resistance against aircraft fuel and fuel degradation.
